Petri Ihantola works as an associate professor of big data learning analytics at the University of Helsinki. Prior to this position, Ihantola worked as an assistant professor in software engineering at the Tampere University of Technology and multiple positions in software industry, e.g., at Google in Ireland and in Switzerland between 2007 and 2009. Ihantola's research interests span across educational data mining and building educational software with a particular focus on smart content, automated assessment, and learning analytics in computing education.
