Kaja Schiøtz

Senior Adviser, Faculty of Humanities, University of Oslo, Norway

Kaja Schiøtz is a specialist in the evaluation and recognition of international higher education with more than 40 years of experience in the field. She started as a foreign student adviser at UiO, has been deputy head of the International Office, head of the Norwegian ENIC/NARIC while this was still located at the UiO and is now working with internationalization at the Faculty of Humanities.
Kaja has represented Norwegian HE institutions in a number of  Norwegian  government committees and also in international committees and expert groups (Council of Europe, UNESCO, EU). She has been Vice President of the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee, Steering group member of the Expert Community Admission and Recognition (EAIE) and given a number of presentations in national and international conferences (eg EAIE, NAFSA, TAICEP, NUAS).
She is now representing Norwegian universities in the on-going 3-year EU-project MERIC-Net, a capacity building project to favour and to increase mobility and recognition of qualifications within the South Mediterranean Region (Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco).
She has been active in in NUAS since 2000 as a group member in International Admission and Recognition of Qualifications.
