Track A: Digitalization and Managing Change

A Digital Workplace for Everyone: Being Deafblind in a Modern Library

Edvard Johan Strand will share his work life journey: from being deaf to gradually losing his sight until being deafblind. Which technical and digital skills are clever to have?

Mariann Løkse will follow up with the following:

How has technological developments influenced the way workers with disabilities can maintain meaningful jobs as long as possible? At the University Library, we have seen a massive change in the services we offer our users, due to technology and digitization. Many manual tasks have almost disappeared at the same time that new work areas have emerged. This talk will focus on what we, as employers, can do to open possibilities for staff with disabilities and how modern technology both makes this easier and more challenging, using my colleague, Edvard Strand, as an example.

It will be possible to ask questions at the end.
